Douglas Fairbanks was writer and producer as well as star of this magnificent fantasy, one of the greatest films of the silent era. Grand designs by William Cameron Menzies, and state-of-the-art special effects that still dazzle. Fairbanks’s athleticism and insouciant grace were never better show-cased. [Running time: 2hr 20m]
