Film-maker and archivist David Cleveland ('The Prof' from Vision On) explains how film was made, shot, processed and shown, including practical film handling, splicing, projection and the techniques of film identification. This workshop can be tailored to participants’ interests and/or needs by prior arrangement, with possible areas of focus including silent film and hand-cranked projection, experimental colour processes, home movies through the years, or practical skills for modern-day film projection. Participants enjoy optional free admission to an archival screening the evening before the workshop. (For ages: 16+) (6 places)
